Barbara Kijewska holds a PhD in political science, Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Faculty of Social Sciences, UG. Barbara is an assistant professor at
the Department of Public Policy and Administration (the Institute of Political Science at the University of Gdańsk), where she works as a researcher and lecturer. What is more, she provides expert advice and engages in urban activism in the area of equality, women’s rights, and preventing violence against women.

Since 2015 she has served as an expert to the Polish Ecological Club-Pomeranian Branch, and since 2018 – as a representative of the Congress of Women Association. In 2020 Barbara co-founded the local feminist association Tricity Women’s Action. She is also a member of the Council for Equal Treatment of the Second Term (2021–2025).

Her research interests focus on:  

Institutional mechanisms of the advancement of women, public policies for equal treatment, social aspects of technology acceptance, public opinion polls and media presentations
