A conference on the most important challenges and directions for action in the area of migration and integration of foreigners in Poland and Pomerania was held in the Polish Sky room of the Office of the Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship in Gdansk. The CZRUG Migration Observatory was a content partner of the event organised by the Voivodeship Labour Office.

During the meeting, the following were presented

  • the assumptions of the Polish Migration Strategy (2025-2030) regarding the policy of satisfying the human resources needs of the Polish economy, providing the necessary support for the development of the labour market and social security,
  • a diagnosis of the situation of migrants in the context of the labour market and integration challenges faced by foreigners in Poland,
  • Strategic Plan for Intercultural Integration of Migrants and the launch of Foreigners’ Integration Centres in the Pomorskie Voivodeship, which will support new residents in the adaptation process,
  • the experience of the City of Gdańsk as an example of integration activities at the local level.

Rafał Raczyński, PhD, coordinator of the Migration Observatory, and Kamila Kowalska, PhD, expert of the Migration Observatory, spoke on the panel entitled Diagnosis of the situation of migrants in the labour market and integration of foreigners in the host society.

The culminating part of the event was a panel discussion on the practical implementation of the migration strategy at national, regional and local levels, where the need for effective cooperation, complementation and coordination of activities was emphasised.
