The EU Strategy Forum for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR Annual Forum 2025) was held in Sopot on October 29-30, 2025.

The EUSBSR Annual Forum serves to strengthen cooperation among the countries of the region. This year’s edition in Sopot, held under the theme “Securing the Future,” focused on the key priorities of the EUSBSR Strategy: protecting the environment, integrating the region and strengthening socio-economic prosperity. The event brought together representatives of governments, local governments, NGOs, academia and business to discuss building geopolitical, economic, social and environmental stability.

The second plenary session “Energy – Powering the Future: Energy Security in the Shifting World” was moderated by Dr. hab. Sylwia Mrozowska, Prof. UG, Director of the UG Center for Sustainable Development. Participants discussed joint activities supporting sustainable energy transition, development of offshore wind energy and hydrogen technologies. Experts from the European Commission, the Polish energy sector and international research centers stressed that achieving energy independence and increasing the region’s resilience to global crises will only be possible through close cooperation between countries, academia and the business sector.
