On October 17, 2025, the Emigration Museum in Gdynia hosted a meeting for young people entitled “Migration without prejudice – a conversation about facts and myths.” “This meeting is not only about numbers and politics, but above all about people, stories, and emotions. About how migration is changing the world, Europe, Poland, and ourselves,” said Dr. Rafał Raczyński, who moderated the entire discussion.

The following people took part in the discussion:

  • Janina Ochojska – founder of Polska Akcja Humanitarna (Polish Humanitarian Action), social activist, former Member of the European Parliament;
  • Dr. Alexander Kalbarczyk – director of the Migration Commission of the German Bishops’ Conference; delegated member of the Executive Committee of the International Catholic Migration Commission (ICMC), responsible for Christian-Muslim dialogue at the German Bishops’ Conference;
  • Patrice Chocholski – Director of the Mediterranean Institute in Marseille, expert at the Vatican’s Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue

and people with experience of migration:

  • Yana Prakopchyk – Yana comes from Belarus. She is a graduate of the University of Warsaw and moved to Gdańsk a year ago. She works as a journalist, photographer, and barista.
  • Taisiia Huz – Taja came to Poland from southern Ukraine in 2019. She graduated from Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin and is currently continuing her studies at the University of Warsaw. She lives in Gdańsk. Professionally, she organizes various cultural events, sometimes related to migration and integration.
