During the October CONVIVIUM Meeting in Gdańsk, we spent three intensive yet relaxed days that allowed us not only to work together but also to get to know one another better.
On the first day, we discussed the main objectives of the project and its key concepts, and then continued working in smaller groups on their practical application. We ended the day with a joint visit to the Gdańsk Shipyard and a shared dinner, where our conversations extended beyond project-related topics.
On the second day, we stepped away from our regular work and immersed ourselves in a more hands-on, workshop-focused setting. We travelled outside Gdańsk to take part in a cheese-making workshop and had the opportunity to explore the culinary heritage of the Pomeranian region. An important element of the programme was also the discussion around The Pierogi Problem, which allowed us to look at Polish cuisine from a broader, interdisciplinary perspective.
The third day was devoted to reviewing progress in the various parts of the project. Short presentations and discussions helped us organise the next steps and summarise our work so far. We concluded with shared reflections, bringing to a close three days in which we not only worked on the project but also had the chance to put its core ideas into practice – sharing traditions, jointly experiencing the revitalisation of heritage in the present, and enjoying the conviviality and togetherness while sitting at a shared table.
