The first open meeting dedicated to the SEA-EU Inner Development Guide (IDG) Hub has successfully taken place. The event brought together more than 20 participants from universities within the SEA-EU alliance as well as from outside the alliance. We would like to thank everyone for their engagement, energy, and valuable ideas.

During the meeting, participants shared reflections and key takeaways from the SEA-EU Staff Week held in October at Nord University in Bodø (Norway), which initiated the establishment of the SEA-EU Inner Development Guide (IDG) Hub network across the nine partner universities of the SEA-EU alliance. We discussed the concept of the emerging hub as well as possible directions and formats for future cooperation.

An important part of the meeting was also devoted to short micro-interventions that may find practical application in higher education. The network remains open to all those interested in co-creating courses, events, communication materials, and joint research proposals.

We had the opportunity to listen to inspiring presentations by Frauke Godat (Kiel University), Marie-Amélie Lacroix (University of Brest), Dr Morena Galesic Divic (University of Split), Nathalie Richard (University of Brest), as well as Dr hab. Sylwia Mrozowska, prof. UG, Director of the University of Gdańsk Centre for Sustainable Development, and Monika Adamczuk, Project Manager at the Centre, who presented the activities of our Centre.

The Inner Development Goals (IDGs) support the development of internal competencies necessary for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and foster the building of more conscious, responsible, and resilient academic communities. IDG Hubs serve as spaces for collaboration and mutual support in the process of implementing the IDG framework within organisations. They bring together representatives of diverse backgrounds, including practitioners, leadership staff, researchers, academic teachers, and students.

The next meeting of the SEA-EU Inner Development Guide (IDG) Hub will take place on 15 January, from 13:00 to 15:00 CET, and will focus on identifying areas of interest and matchmaking between partners and projects.

The meeting was organised by Dr Tove Holm from Nord University.
