On behalf of the Program Council and the Organizing Committee of the 15th Jubilee Conference of the Migration Research Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences, we are pleased to invite you to submit paper proposals for the conference, which will take place on 23–25 September 2026 in Gdańsk and Gdynia.
This year’s conference, entitled “Emigration, Immigration, Integration in the Era of Social and Political Polarization,” will have an international and interdisciplinary character. The conference proceedings will be conducted in Polish and English, and paper proposals may be submitted in either language.
Aims and thematic scope
The aim of the conference is to encourage in-depth reflection on migration processes – with particular emphasis on Central and Eastern Europe – in the context of:
- growing social tensions,
- the politicization of public debates,
- challenges related to integration and the functioning of culturally diverse societies.
Call for papers
We encourage the submission of paper proposals that:
- align with the main theme of the conference and the planned thematic sessions,
- address current and significant research challenges related to migration,
- present empirical research findings, theoretical approaches, or methodological reflections,
- combine academic perspectives with practical experience.
Participation rules
Due to the large number of planned sessions and the expected high number of participants:
- each participant may submit and present only one paper,
- it is possible to participate as a co-author in other submissions.

Paper selection
Acceptance of papers to the conference programme is decided by the organizer of the respective thematic session.
Conference fee
- PLN 750 – regular fee
- PLN 400 – reduced fee (PhD students, students, and members of the Migration Research Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences)
