The Institute for Innovation and Responsible Development invites undergraduate and graduate students to participate in the Circular Transformation of the Polish Economy competition. Industrial symbiosis strategy.” The event is organized as part of the “Circular Week 2024” event.

The aim of the competition is to increase students’ knowledge and awareness of industrial symbiosis, to obtain information about existing and potential solutions in the field of industrial symbiosis and to develop an industrial symbiosis strategy. The competition will evaluate works prepared by teams of 3-5 people.

Development of industrial symbiosis is the cooperation of at least two entities in which by-products, waste, or energy from one entity are used by another entity. Industrial symbiosis results in economic, social, or environmental benefits. The entities involved complement each other through the efficient use of raw materials, technology, or energy.

Entries for the competition are accepted until 30 July 2024, while the competition task must be sent by 10 October 2024 to the address kontakt@innowo.org

The solution presented in the paper must include:

  1. A description of the innovative industrial symbiosis of two or more enterprises that could be implemented in Poland.
  2. current market analysis, identifying bottlenecks, chances, and opportunities in selected sectors of the economy, proposing the implementation of industrial symbiosis, developing legislative challenges, creating an implementation plan, and planning marketing activities.
