On April 10, 2025, a meeting of partners participating in the CATALISI project was held at the University of Gdańsk Library. The Center for Sustainable Development was represented by Monika Adamczuk.
The aim of the CATALISI project (Catalysing institutional transformations of Higher Education Institutions through the adoption of acceleration services) is to assist and support higher education institutions in the effective implementation of strategies and individual institutional transformation pathways through the adoption of acceleration services. These services are designed to facilitate and accelerate institutional transformations in the field of research and innovation, which will strengthen cooperation and alliances between European universities as beacons of European values. The project manager on behalf of the University of Gdańsk is Dr. Sebastian Susmarski.
The CATALISI project partnership visit lasted two days (April 10-11). During the meeting at the Main Library of the University of Gdańsk and at the Faculty of Economics, the project partners presented good practices in promoting open science and disseminating research results to a wide range of stakeholders. In many cases, this research addresses social challenges that Poland faces on a daily basis.
Monika Adamczuk, project manager at CZRUG, presented good practices related to the university’s involvement in social life during the meeting at the Main Library of the University of Gdańsk, focusing on three aspects: dissemination of knowledge, openness of university resources, and the concept of a “university for society,” explaining how a university can and should play an active role in public life by supporting social, cultural, educational, and economic development. , explaining how universities can and should play an active role in public life by supporting social, cultural, educational, and economic development. An example of this was the activity of the Center for Sustainable Development, which, as a university-wide unit, effectively implements this mission in practice, including through social projects, participation in events promoting knowledge, and partnerships with external organizations.
