SEA-EU alliance university partners will meet on 6-7 June 2024 at the University of Gdansk to exchange experiences of the green transformation of coastal universities as part of strengthening the GOES GREENER network. Good practices, current projects and future plans will be the subjects of the meeting. The ‘We strengthen the network of cooperation’ meeting will take place within the framework of Task 4.4 SEA-EU Goes Greener.
The event was divided into three parts. The first part, open to members of the University of Gdansk community who are interested in the topic of the event, is scheduled for 6 June at the Faculty of Social Sciences. This will include the award ceremony for the ‘We include gender in research’ competition, organised as part of the MINDtheGEPs project (Horizon2020), led by Professor Ewa Łojkowska. Another highlight is the presentation of small steps towards the green transformation of higher education institutions. Nine universities affiliated with the SEA-EU alliance will present their activities and make proposals on how to make the campus a greener and more ecological place and how to design and implement innovative projects to meet the challenges of Agenda 2030.
In the second part of the first day of the event, the participants will move to the Dom Zdrojowy House (Hevelianum), where a workshop will be held to develop the scope of the Green Charter, which is to constitute the commitment of the SEA-EU 2.0 European University to sustainable development.
On the following day (7 June), the Faculty of Philology, as part of the strengthening of the SDG network between researchers from the partner universities, will host a space for a poster session presenting the results of research carried out under the Small Grants Programme ‘UGrants’, which have received additional funding due to their link to sustainability goals. The poster session will also present research results and good practices from representatives of the partner universities attending the event.
The event ‘We strengthen the network of cooperation’ is organised in the framework of Tasku 4.4 SEA-EU Goes Greener. The coordinator of Tasku is Sylwia Mrozowska, PhD, DSc, Prof. UG.
