Join the Blue Bio Techpreneurs Nordic Hackathon 2024: expand your network, get support from experts and present your solutions in the blue bio-economy sector at the state-of-the-art research station in Svanninge, southern Denmark offering an ideal environment for collaboration and innovation! The hackathon is open to Master’s students, PhD students, graduates with a graduation date of December 2023 or later, studying at European universities, regardless of their nationality. Participants can come from different disciplines such as marine or life sciences, as well as environmental economics, design, technology, programming, business, biology and others. All candidates interested in working in the blue bio-economy sector are welcome to apply….
During the event, participants will work in an interdisciplinary team to develop a solution to a real-world challenge from the region within 48 hours, with the support of a mentor from the industry. Teams and challenge topics will be assigned upon acceptance of the application, will be tailored to the interests of the participants and based on topics submitted by companies and institutions….
Registration and participation for students is free of charge. Accommodation and food will also be provided during the event:
- 27 September (dinner and overnight)
- 28 September (breakfast, lunch, dinner and overnight)
- 29 September (breakfast, dinner; no overnight stay on 29 September)
Depending on the participant’s location and the organiser’s budget, we hope to cover the full or partial amount of travel costs (there is space in the application form to give an estimate)….

The BBT Nordic Hackathon is designed for startups, companies and higher education institutions working in the blue bio-economy area that have real challenges to solve, and in the planned event would have the chance to benefit from the ideas and inspiration of young talents and support their further development….
The challenges submitted must be real problems faced by the industry from a variety of areas (economic, technological, social, marketing…). The challenge can also be an ongoing project for which you need new knowledge, experience, perspective….
