We would like to invite you to the Baltic Nuclear Energy Forum 2025, which will be held at the European Solidarity Center in Gdansk on March 18-20, 2025. The event provides a unique platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience on innovative solutions in nuclear energy.
We would especially like to draw your attention to:
Workshop: “Local Information Committees/Local Safety Committees: good European practices (creation, operation, effects)”.
Workshop conducted in Polish (without translation)
Registration for the workshop: https://bnef25-warsztaty.konfeo.com/pl/groups
During the workshop, we would like to share best practices in building a sense of security for residents of localities around which nuclear power plants are located. We will discuss the practices of Swedish and French information committees and local safety committees. We want to introduce all interested parties to the ways in which such committees are established, their role, the participation of residents and other stakeholders. We will talk about the benefits of their activities and answer questions about good practices developed in those countries where nuclear power plants have been operating for many years.
Our special guest at the workshop will be Mats Rosen – former secretary of the local safety committee at the Barsebäck nuclear power plant (Scania, Sweden).
The workshop is co-organized with the Pomeranian Regional Planning Office in Gdansk.

The presented case studies from the UK, Spain and the Netherlands will be an excellent illustration of effective solutions being implemented by municipalities with nuclear power plants.
