The main theme of the Baltic Nuclear Energy Forum 2026 will be “Energy for a Resilient Society“. Ahead is a gathering of experts, policy makers and industry representatives who will discuss how modern nuclear technologies, responsible financing models and international cooperation can strengthen the foundations of the European energy system. The March 18 event will include a BNEF Roundtable entitled. “Information and Education Centers in Nuclear Power Plant Regions”. Roundtable partners are: Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe Sp. z o.o. and the Center for Sustainable Development UG.
Zbliża się Okrągły Stół „Centra informacyjno-edukacyjne w regionach elektrowni jądrowych” w ramach BNEF 2026

Poland is beginning the process of constructing its first nuclear power plant. One of the accompanying initiatives will be the design of a modern information and education centre to support communication about the nuclear energy programme. This is a high-risk communication area: the message can easily be oversimplified into public relations, or — conversely — dominated by excessive technical detail that makes it difficult for non-expert audiences to understand.

Across Europe, various models of such centres are in operation: from traditional visitor centres located at operating nuclear power plants, through city-based centres, to hybrid solutions combining exhibitions, school programmes, stakeholder dialogue elements, and digital communication tools.

During the roundtable, experts involved in running such centres at European nuclear power plants will discuss proven educational tools and methods for presenting reliable information. The discussion will also identify solutions that work well in practice, as well as those that do not deliver the expected results.

The Roundtable will be moderated by Milosz Wojtyna (University of Gdansk).
