The anniversary edition of the Open Eyes Economy Summit Congress, one of the most important economic and social events in Poland, is now behind us. The Congress is the culmination of a year’s worth of intellectual and organizational work by the Open Eyes Economy movement. OEES is a meeting place for people from the worlds of business, science, administration, and non-governmental organizations, as well as a place for exchanging ideas, inspiring conversations, and presentations of the latest solutions in the field of the economy of the future.

The congress was officially opened by Aleksander Miszalski, Mayor of Krakow.
As part of the plenary sessions, a panel discussion entitled “OEES:Talks: From barriers to solutions. Local content challenges in the Polish nuclear program,” which was moderated by Dr. hab. Sylwia Mrozowska, Prof. UG, Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at the University of Gdańsk.

- Leszek Hołda – President of the Management Board, Bechtel Polska Sp. z o.o.,
- Bogumiła Ożarska-Karbowiak – Vice-President of the Management Board, Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe Sp. z o.o.
The panel discussed key barriers limiting the participation of Polish companies, scientific institutions, and local governments in the implementation of the nuclear program, including challenges in certification, competence development, meeting quality requirements, and integrating Polish SMEs into global supply chains. The discussion also focused on measures that could increase the competitiveness of the domestic industry and the conditions necessary for local content to become an impetus for sustainable regional specialization, rather than a one-off response to a single investment.
