The document was signed by the directors of both institutions – Marta Szadowiak (NCK) and Sylwia Mrozowska, PhD, DSc, Prof. UG (CZRUG).
The signing ceremony took place during the meeting “Poland: from a country of emigration to a country of opportunities,” which opened a series of events entitled “Multicultural Baltic – Multicultural Pomerania.” This is the first in a series of meetings devoted to the history of migration, a phenomenon that has influenced the cultural and economic landscape of Pomerania and the Baltic region for centuries.
During the meeting, Dr. Rafał Raczyński (Migration Observatory Coordinator) and Dr. Kamila Kowalska (Migration Observatory expert) presented the factors that are transforming Poland into an immigration country and discussed current immigration trends in Poland and Pomerania.
Multicultural Baltic – Multicultural Pomerania
“Each meeting will be an opportunity to listen to experts – enthusiasts of migration issues – who will talk about the impact of migration on our society in an accessible and inspiring way. Enriched multimedia presentations, unique source materials, and moving excerpts from interviews with emigrants and immigrants will add a unique atmosphere and depth to the meetings,” announces the Baltic Sea Cultural Center.
The organizer of the “Multicultural Baltic – Multicultural Pomerania” series is the Nadbałtyckie Centrum Kultury. The series is partnered by the Migration Observatory operating within the CZR UG, and the event is held under the honorary patronage of the Marshal of the Pomeranian Province and the Minister for European Affairs during the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2025.
More information about upcoming events in the “Multicultural Pomerania” series and other joint initiatives with the Baltic Sea Cultural Center will be available soon.
