About the project
PULA is the result of the Greencoin project implemented by a consortium of six entities led by the Gdansk University of Technology. With the PULA app, you can earn Good Coins by changing your habits to be more responsible and sustainable. The project aims to connect residents and local businesses (catering, services, social economy entities) and for the sustainable change of Gdansk and reward positive behaviour.
How the system works
PULA is based on a simple principle. Sustainable behaviour by residents is rewarded with Good Coins. The coins can be used to purchase vouchers entitling them to receive prizes from partners. The rewards include products and services (or discounts) that support one of the three dimensions of sustainability (environmental, economic or social).
Who can join the project?
From July 2023, anyone can join the project. The PULA app will be downloadable in the Play shop for Android devices and in the AppStore for IOS devices.
PULA is being implemented as part of the Greencoin research project, which aims to create a system for promoting sustainable behaviour through an alternative virtual currency. The Greencoin project benefits from €1.9 million in funding received from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway under the EEA Funds.
