On December 14, 2023, a workshop meeting of the UG Enactus Team was held at the headquarters of the UG Sustainability Center.
Enactus, is an international non-profit student organization operating in two thousand universities in more than 30 countries around the world on five continents. It is dedicated to educating and supporting students in using innovation and entrepreneurship to solve economic, environmental and social problems and challenges. They are part of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The purpose of the meeting was to organize the work of the Enactus project team at the University of Gdansk, elect a leader and discuss the plan of action for the coming weeks, which is to involve students of the University of Gdansk in the implementation of the next edition of creating student initiatives for sustainable development. Importantly, projects based on business principles are to educate students in social and pro-environmental attitudes based on sound market fundamentals.
The meeting, organized at the Centre for Sustainable Development of the University of Gdansk, was attended by mentors and supervisors of the students: Alicja Zbierzchowska, PhD, from the Department of Social Pedagogy of the Institute of Pedagogy of the Faculty of Social Sciences (organizer and supervisor of the work of the Enactus UG project team), Małgorzata Bielenia, PhD, from the Department of Transport and Maritime Trade of the Faculty of Economics, and Krzysztof Szczepaniak, PhD, from the Department of Investment and Real Estate of the Faculty of Management, director of CZRUG, who, together with Barbara Pawlowska, PhD, DSc, Prof. UG, from the Department of Transport Economics of the Faculty of Economics, serve as mentors to the Enactus UG team.
The main actors of the meeting were students of the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Management, who from among their number chose Kaja Jakóbczyk-Roman – a student of preschool and early childhood pedagogy – as the team leader.
More workshop meetings are planned soon. We wish all students and academics involved in the Enactus UG Team a fruitful work in the coming 2024.
