Deputy Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship Leszek Bonna, on behalf of Marshal Mieczysław Struk, conveyed to the Rector of the University of Gdansk, Prof. Piotr Stepnowski, his thanks for his favor towards the initiative of the Pomeranian Voivodeship Self-Government – the Pomeranian Cooperation Platform for Foreigners on the Labor Market (PPW).

Thanks also go to Rafał Raczyński, coordinator of the Migration Observatory at the UG Center for Sustainable Development, and Kamila Kowalska from the Institute of Political Science and the Migration Observatory at the UG Center for Sustainable Development, for presenting a diagnosis of the situation of foreign workers in the regional labor market, as well as substantive support and exchange of knowledge in the field of migration and integration policy for immigrants”, the document reads.

The formula of the Pomeranian Cooperation Platform for foreigners in the regional labor market is open to new entities interested in cooperating to strengthen the Pomeranian labor market in the context of migration. The Observatory of Migration, operating within the structures of the Center for Sustainable Development at the University of Gdansk, has joined the initiative implemented by the Pomeranian Voivodeship Government. The aim of the Pomeranian Cooperation Platform is to strengthen cooperation and dialogue between labor market partners and institutions involved in the employment of foreigners. The initiative aims to develop service standards dedicated to foreigners taking up employment in Pomerania and Pomeranian employers open to hiring foreign workers.

I am convinced that our fruitful cooperation will continue to develop this, contributing to the continuous improvement of standards in the area of legal residence and employment of foreigners in the Pomeranian labor market”, adds Deputy Marshal Leszek Bonna.

The CZRUG Migration Observatory was established in October 2024, with Rafal Raczynski, PhD, as its coordinator. The observatory’s goal is to monitor and analyze migration processes, both locally, regionally and nationally. Its task is to provide reliable data, expert opinions, reports and analysis that can serve as a basis for decision-making by public authorities, NGOs and the private sector.
