PowerConnect Energy Summit is the largest energy trade show and conference in northern Poland. The event was held March 26-28, 2025 at the AMBEREXPO Exhibition and Convention Center in Gdansk. The PowerConnect Energy Summit is part of the calendar of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
In the panel “Energy Policy of the European Union. How to reconcile the West with the East?” was attended by:
- Günay Quliyeva, Head of the Economic Analysis Division, Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication,
- Maciej Jakubik, Coordinator of the European Program, Energy Forum,
- Olevs Nikers, President, Baltic Security Foundation (BSF),
- Tymon Pastucha Energy Policy Analyst, Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM).
The discussion, moderated by Sylwia Mrozowska, PhD, DSc, Prof. UG, focused on key tensions and challenges in the European Union’s energy policy, both globally and regionally. The panel addressed the Paris Agreement, economic interests and the dynamics of East-West relations. In conclusion, the moderator stressed that the key challenge remains finding a balance between energy security, environmental ambitions and the economic interests of individual countries.
One of the PowerConnect events was a Roundtable on Personnel Education for the Energy Sector, organized by the Office of the Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The roundtable was attended by educational experts, representatives of government and local administration, and representatives of employers, universities and training institutions. The Center was represented by Director Sylwia Mrozowska. Participants discussed the challenges of developing energy sectors in the region. The problem of preparing the regional labor market through inter-institutional cooperation, issues of transferable competencies, micro-credentials and optimization of the model of student internships and placements were raised.
