As part of the Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) program, we promote interdisciplinary education focused on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The United Nations General Assembly Resolution 72/22210 recognized the ESD as “an integral component of the SDG 4 in education and a key enabler of all other SDGs”. The 17 SDGs cover key environmental challenges (e.g. climate change, water quality, ocean health and clean land) as well as key issues to be considered in development discourses such as poverty, gender equality and equity.
The programme coordinators of the Centre for Sustainable Development are not full-time employees of CZRUG, but nevertheless use their knowledge, enthusiasm and skills to advance the goals of sustainable development at the University of Gdansk and to strengthen the university’s image as a leading university in Pomerania in this field by promoting the achievements and accomplishments of academics, administration and students.
